“You break the chord,”1
so...
Did we lose the light?
No, no...that's not right.
Did we get firewood?
No, no....that's no good.
Did we join two points on a curve?
No, no...not that I could observe.
Did we lose that loving feeling?
Of course not, we're still congealing.
Tell me, oh good lord
What do you mean by chord?
I'm just trying to give a little nudge.
Every good boy deserves fudge
Always?
Always.
I'm all about that bass.
About that bass?
No treble.
Like a treble hook?
Only when I'm fishing.
For bass or bass?
Yes.

I had fun reading this. The dialogue flows naturally, and the wordplay keeps taking the conversation in unexpected directions. My favorite moment was the classic “For bass or bass?” followed simply by “Yes.” It perfectly captures the playful spirit of the whole piece. Clever, lighthearted, and a nice reminder of how much fun language can be.
This is so much fun! :D
And the for bass or bass line at the end was perfect!! 😎🎸💯
