Maya
This morning, a goddess
stepped down from heaven,
just upstream of the river bend,
where eddies twirl cosmic
visions with solar rays.
Dug her heels into the muddy bank.
Coconut scented curls,
long as winter nights,
spilled from the crown of her head,
flowed to the arch of her back,
against her marigold aura.
I was void cast in shadow.
NinjastroniShe plucked the fish
dangling from my line,
gutted it with ease,
entrails laid by my feet
in a threat of mercy.
Violence is always behind it.
This morning, a goddess
left the celestial sphere,
to demand clemency
for a suffocating sturgeon
gasping on the rod of his god.
A reminder that I am the fish.

I left a like and comment on this a couple of days ago, I have no idea where that went? Anyway, I just wanted to say that each line is brilliantly worded. Phenomenal job from you both!
Oh wow, super powerful and visual. Love it
